I see we have an area for events, feedback, and heralds, but what about an area for just random useful LARPy type information?
Also, a buy/sell page might be useful, so we can help LH folk find/sell garb, weapons, accessories, small children, trophies from vanquished foes, blood of the innocent, the breath of dreams and other hard-to-find items, etc.

There is a section on the wiki that has a lot of such things, stores, blogs, and tutorials etc. I do like the idea of a buy/sell page though.

So....can I Buy Seraphina? We have three dogs at home and I'll trade you a pound of bacon(venison or normal).

I like the buy/sell page. We can set some prices or offer services for helping make custom garb or what not. Let everyone know who to talk to about acquiring it.

I'm a huge fan of this idea as well. It'll make it easier for players to connect with gear and help improve the overall appearance of the game.

We definitely need a buy/sell page, and a tutorial/how-to page is SUPER DUPER NEEDED. Yeah, the wiki has links to external tutorials and whatnot, which is nice... but only one of them offers any sort of instruction (the other is just patterns). It's a far cry from having a place to say "Hey, I made this cool thing, and I can teach you how to make it, too," or link-spam with a dozen different patterns for the same thing so you can get help figuring out which one works best (or how to combine different aspects of several)... or, heck, just a place to get tips on how to make your armor fit properly - and have those tips be archived so that we don't have to have the same conversation all over again next time someone's breastplate digs into their side. What I'm saying is: Never underestimate the power of workshopping.
Also, if a Buy/Sell section is created, would it be cool if I started a tiny store for myself in a thread? Costume design is kind of what I went to college for (and hope to do professionally), so I'd happily make custom garb & armor for people that would rather buy than build.
(Edited for grammar.)

LOL! As long as you have the dogs, she'll be glad to talk to you, but if you're dogless, you're chopped liver. Sorry

Cerys raises an excellent point; LARP involves a lot of crafting and conversation about crafting. I think it would be beneficial for the players to see and discuss how to get/make good garb, as well as fostering community without sparking inanity. I know I've spent the last week assembling patterns for Ulven gear, and if I can save someone the time it took me to search in order to better the garb standard, then so be it. It also gives us a place to share other useful info like music; I think that getting folks some proper folk music would do wonders for atmosphere.

We could potenitally add a larp Buy/Sell area to the forums.
We were hoping to keep the "general section" off of the forums since we will be using FB for quick notifications.
If there is anything else you would like to see, let me know!

I think a bit of clarification is needed; the information in such a section would be purely related to crafting and buy/sell information. It has a few advantages.
Permanence Like it or not, Facebook has a certain ephemerality to it. With the pace of conversation, useful information gets lost in the sea of "Hey guys, I wish I was LARPing!" comments. With this, if someone has basic garb questions, they can be directed to links for basic sewing patterns, inspirational photos, and other such items.
Control Forum policing is easy enough, and I doubt the pace is fast enough to overwhelm. I'd even volunteer to keep stuff not related to crafting off of this forum.
Usefulness At the moment, this place really doesn't have people other than Heralds. It's useful to have a controlled area where people can submit content and find good resources without the extra conversation of FB. We may need to give folks a reason to come to the forums; since Wiki is mostly story and is limited in space, compiling links will be useful, in part because folks can explain them.
Overall, I think this is useful enough that it'll be a good resource, plus it could really help solve some of the garb questions that we've gotten. "Crafting and Game Resources" might be a good name, with allowances for shops being involved. That's essentially what I'm getting from this suggestion.

A handful of the players actually do leatherwork, brewing, blacksmithing and sewing.
The lead organizer, Ryan, probably has the closes leather work to your website examples. Other people have made leather braces and greaves. Probably other leather work too, that I don't know about.
Best to ask in person, at practice or an event.
Elsewise shoot a message to the last hope email with your questions, and they'll try to get back to you when they have a moment free.
