= REGISTRATION AREA & PLAYING FIELD INFO =
New Lisbon, WI
- The entrance to the property is flanked by several driveways we have permission to park on if needed. Please check-in or get directions before you park. You are allowed to park on the road as an overflow but you MUST park on our side of a road, try to keep the entire vehicle off the road, and minimize foot traffic on the road.
- The property boundaries to the north, west, and east are marked by GREEN flagging tape. The neighbor's driveway is also a boundary to the east. The southern boundary is the clearing leading up to the interstate.
- There are several deer stands on the property; at this time, we ask that you do not go into any of them.
- Do not cut down any trees without approval.
- Do not use adjacent driveways/neighbor property without explicit permission!
= NIGHT CONDITIONS =
This event will take place during night conditions on Saturday, May 26th. After 8:30pm all night-time rules and glow effects are in place.
= WEATHER CONDITIONS =
This event is in May, so plan accordingly! We will have loaner garb for NPCs but please make sure to plan to bring extra layers to keep warm; gloves, boots, etc.
It can be hot during the day; traditionall late-May events have been rather warm.
Be prepared; IT COULD ALSO BE FAIRLY COLD AT NIGHT!
*** Base/thermal layers do not need to fit Decorum but outer layers do... please make sure you get your garb checked! PLAN ACCORDINGLY! ***
= NPC ROLE SIGN-UP & PRE-REG/PREPAY =
There are several NPC roles available during this event. If you are interested in playing an NPC role, please contact us ahead of time to let us know... see below for options.
There are NOT any dedicated monster roles needed for this event.
- The "NPC Sign-Up Deadline" is the same cut-off as the membership deadline (by Thursday, 5/17/18) and this will add you to the list to get a more detailed or involved NPC. This gives us time to flesh out a backstory, details, and how your NPC can impact the scenario. You are also required to EMAIL US to let us know what kind of NPC you prefer. The staff will then email you back your detailed NPC role before the event, usually a bit after the pre-reg deadline ends. This also gets you on the list for the provided meal.
= PC PRE-REG / FASTER CHECK-IN / SKILL UPDATES =
- The "PC Pre-Reg/Pre-Pay Deadline" is the week before the event (by Thursday, 5/17/18) and this will place you on the list to get the pre-reg meal and automatically add you to the "Faster Check-In" line, allowing you to register much quicker at the event.
- Players who miss the Pre-Reg deadline may still sign up for the "Faster Check-In" by emailing us ahead of time. (Before Wednesday, so NO LATER THAN Midnight, Tuesday, 5/17/18)
- If you have updates to your PC, DO THEM AHEAD OF TIME AND EMAIL US THE CHANGES!!! The deadline for these changes is the same as the Faster Check-In deadline. You cannot do skill updates and the "Faster Check-In" as we prepare your card/bag/wristband/etc early in preparation of your arrival and day-of PCs can wait until after registration is complete for the majority of the players and then, IF WE HAVE TIME, we can update your PC skills. There is no guarantee we can do this at an event due to the registration time needs.
= LATE PLAYERS =
We are following a strict time-block for check-in/registration so players will be expected to arrive on time to get registered and then attend the game briefing. This helps us make sure we stay on time and keep the game starting when we need it to. If a player is going to be late and they are going to arrive after registration closes, they are expected to notify the staff by emailing the lasthopelarp@gmail.com address to let us know. This allows us to pull the PC cards and info and prepare their items for when they arrive. Failure to do this will result in an exp penalty if a player arrives after reg closes but before the briefing, or a forced NPC role if the player arrives after the briefing. This does not mean we do not have wiggle room; all you have to do is notify us ahead of time via email so we can prepare accordingly.
= EVENT SPECIAL MECHANICS =
1) Supplies to the Front
A big part of this event's focus on the war in the dirge is the supply lines feeding into it. Players will have an opportunity to assemble wagon loads of supplies and escort them to "exit points" on the map that will feed supplies to different parts of the war effort. This effort will be the measurable "victory condition" to see if the overall event is successful in terms of the impact on the war.
2) Farmland Mechanics
One of the lifelines of any settlement are its surrounding and viable farmlands. At this event, there will be a mechanic revolving around working at and moving goods to and from a "farmland" area that will be setup. The more that the land is worked and the farmstead improved upon, the higher the chance of players and factions getting a return on their time investment. This farmland area will also be a way to assemble and "add to" outgoing supply wagons with additional food and crops and can make an even bigger impact on the outcome of the event on the surrounding war effort.
= RESOURCE USAGE =
Players may have a PC/PCs use a Resource skill to make an impact on an event but only if they are planning on attending the upcoming event.
Resource Usage for this event needs to be submitted VIA EMAIL no later than midnight on 5/5/18. Information gained from this Resource usage will be available at Check-In at the event; IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO ASK FOR THAT INFO! Players should please try to make sure they are going to be in attendance before sending in their Resource usage.
= MANDATORY CHECK-OUT =
All players are required to properly check-out at every event. Make sure you plan on doing this by seeking out a Herald to turn in your PC card and relevant game props along with you and your equipment's condition.
We will be doing a Check-Out after each day so that players can turn in their items.
If you checkout as a PC, you may not "check back in" after a period of time. Once you check out as a PC, your PC is done for the event day.
There may be limitations on how and where PCs can check out at an event; ask instead of assuming if you feel like your PC would leave early, and then staff can assign you a role after that.
== STORY INFO ==
Food, Supplies, & War
Saturday, Noon to 10pm
Sunday, 10am to 3pm
After the final front of winter melts and finally gives way to spring, the war effort in the dirge continues on. Mordok are turned back all across the "Shield" to the north; reports come in of constant skirmishes but no real attempt for mordok to break through. As long as war packs are kept in the field and supply lines keep arriving to support them, the buffer between active troop movements are allowing fortifications to be built. With the warmer weather comes a new challenge of an ease of movement for both patrolling warriors and mordok. The effort to maintain this line is working... but the hard fortifications and rotation of troops for rest are going to be needed soon.
Recent developments at Pack Dawnrock's outpost have allowed allies to solidify some of the surrounding area, both with martial and logistical efforts, along with expanding on some of the knowledge base revolving around the corruption magic of the mordok. Rumor has it that some of the colonies to the south are looking to invest more time into researching this magic and tension has been growing with some of the ulven in the area, namely the appointed Warpack Leader.
To the southeast of Pack Dawnrock's recently constructed outpost lies the Pack's main settlement of Dawntop. Neighbors to Pack Silvercreek, Dawntop has long been a central hub of trade and warrior movements for decades. With active troop movements and new defensive fortifications to the north, Dawntop has become a safer place than it ever has been. These "hub" settlements are critical for the war effort and are seen as a "last stop" for supplies and warriors before being sent north to support war packs or deliver construction supplies to the new outposts. Martial tacticians quickly realize the critical supply lines that settlements like Dawntop are becoming and making sure that things are moving smoothly could heavily influence the war effort.
Dawntop has been tasked with organizing and delivering loads of supplies via wagon route to different parts of the front lines. Local ulven are pushing for supplies to go north to Pack Dawnrock's outpost and continue to make it an impressive fortification. Clan Grimward and Clan Nightriver allies have expressed concern over too focused of a supply line and are urging a "shared" delivery of supplies to all areas of the front line. Further more, local farmers and hunters are hoping that focusing on and expanding on viable farmland could give Dawntop the ability to keep up with the high demand of food and supplies needed to keep the warriors in the fight against the mordok.
While the local Chieftain has noticed that the overall area is safer because of the war effort, the lines of logistics and coordination required to make sure the war effort is adequately supplied is a daunting task. The impact... for better or worse... of Dawntop's ability to support Pack Dawnrock's outpost to the north or potentially also supporting nearby allied war packs and units will depend on the coordination, effort, and accuracy of those assembled at the settlement.
