== EVENT INFO ==
= PRE-REG FOOD & DRINKING WATER =
BOTH DAYS
Pre-registered players will be provided a small meal on Friday and a small meal on Saturday. Only pre-registered players (PCs, NPCs, Monsters, etc) will be added to the list for food as this helps us plan ahead of time.
*** You should plan on bringing some extra food and snacks to tide you over as no food will be provided the rest of the day. ***
We will NOT be providing any feastware for the feast as both meals will be in-game.
There will be some water brought in for use during both days, but players should plan to bring their own and carry it with them.
** Plan ahead, be self sufficient, and bring your own food/water! ***
= CAMPING, BATHROOMS, FIRES, WATER, & ELECTRICITY =
There is camping available onsite for Friday night; players must vacate after the event on Saturday evening.
Apoc Paintball:
- There is camping available at this event, but players must setup in the appropriate area. Players are also free to stay at any of the campgrounds in the area.
- There is a port-a-potty available onsite for use and there are also gas stations right across the street from the location.
- Campfires are allowed as long as they are PRE-APPROVED BY A HERALD and either in an above-ground firepit or dug into a below-ground firepit.
- There is running water at the site, but it is recommended that players bring their own drinking water.
- There is electricity available at the location in the out-of-game area, but players should not rely on it other than for emergency charging or use.
= REGISTRATION AREA & PLAYING FIELD INFO =
Apoc Paintball:
- The main registration area will be at the UPPER PARKING LOT of Apocalypse Paintball.
- Players will need to park at the UPPER PARKING LOT; the field will need the closer parking for their own staff and Paintball players.
- The paintball field is live and will have players until 5pm, so Last Hope players are NOT to enter the field anywhere unless it is in the specified location we are playing at and with the rest of the group. This means we will be in the back trails of the property for part of the event, and then we will have access to the rest of the field after 5pm.
- Players are NOT to climb on anything that is not designed to be climbed on; don't scale walls or climb on things that are dangerous. Use walkways, ramps, ladders, etc.
- Exact boundaries for the event will be discussed at the game briefing ***
= NIGHT CONDITIONS =
BOTH DAYS:
Half of the event on Friday will be during Night Game conditions, so please plan accordingly!
Lanterns will NOT be provided to players so if you need light, plan ahead.
After 7:30pm, spells MUST have applicable glow bracelets and arrows MUST have yellow glow bracelets or some sort of approved glowing/light device.
*** Do not use large glowsticks on arrows or spells; they are too big and can cause injury! Use cheap glow bracelets or mini illumination sticks to attach around spells or onto arrows.***
= WEATHER CONDITIONS =
BOTH DAYS:
This event is in September, so plan accordingly! We will have loaner garb for NPCs but please make sure to plan to bring extra layers to keep warm; gloves, boots, etc. Bring layers. Temperatures can be warmer during the day and dip down quite a bit (especially if we run around and sweat) at night.
*** Base/thermal layers do not need to fit Decorum but outer layers do... please make sure you get your garb checked! PLAN ACCORDINGLY! ***
= PLAYER CONTRACTS & TUTORIALS =
All players MUST go through a Player Contract each year.
We will be doing player contracts before the event on Friday and will be doing combat tutorials and rules update training for 1.5 rules.
We will also be doing player contracts before the event of the 2nd day on Saturday during or just after registration.
= NPC ROLE SIGN-UP & PRE-REG/PREPAY =
BOTH DAYS:
There are several NPC roles available during this event and NPC players will have a split role since the event days are drastically different. If you are interested in playing an NPC role, please contact us ahead of time to let us know... see below for options.
There are no dedicated monster roles needed for this event, so there is no option available for the "Dedicated Monster - Free entry" for the September event.
- The "NPC Sign-Up Deadline" is the same cut-off as the pre-pay deadline (by Sunday, 9/10/17) and this will add you to the list to get a more detailed or involved NPC. This gives us time to flesh out a backstory, details, and how your NPC can impact the scenario. You are also required to pay ahead of time via the pre-reg/pre-pay options AND EMAIL US to let us know what kind of NPC you prefer. The staff will then email you back your detailed NPC role before the event, usually a bit after the pre-reg deadline ends. This will also earn you 5 exp per event day instead of the standard 3 NPC exp per event day.
- The "NPC Pre-Reg/Pre-Pay Deadline" is the Sunday before the event (by Sunday, 9/10/17) and this will place you on the list to get the pre-reg meal. Even if you miss the NPC Sign-Up deadline, you can still pre-reg/pre-pay for an NPC role to get the provided meal but it may not gain you a detailed role and you will only earn the standard 3 exp per day.
= PC PRE-REG / FASTER CHECK-IN / LATE PLAYERS =
BOTH DAYS:
- The "PC Pre-Reg/Pre-Pay Deadline" is the Sunday before the event (by Sunday, 9/10/17) and this will place you on the list to get the pre-reg meal and automatically add you to the "Faster Check-In" line, allowing you to register much quicker at the event.
- Players who miss the Pre-Reg/Pre-Pay deadline may still sign up or the "Faster Check-In" by emailing us ahead of time. (No later than Midnight, Wednesday, 9/13/17) If you have updates to your PC, DO THEM AHEAD OF TIME AND EMAIL US THE CHANGES; you cannot do skill updates and the "Faster Check-In" as we prepare your card/bag/wristband/etc early in preparation of your arrival.
We are following a stricter time-block for check-in/registration moving forward, so players will be expected to arrive on time to get registered and then attend the game briefing. If a player is going to be late and they are going to arrive after registration closes, they are expected to notify the staff by emailing the lasthopelarp@gmail.com address to let us know. This allows us to pull the PC cards and info and prepare their items for when they arrive. Failure to do this will result in an exp penalty if a player arrives after reg closes but before the briefing, or a forced NPC role if the player arrives after the briefing. This does not mean we do not have wiggle room; all you have to do is notify us ahead of time via email so we can prepare accordingly.
= RESOURCE USAGE =
Players may have a PC/PCs use a Resource skill to make an impact on an event but only if they are planning on attending the upcoming event.
Resource Usage for this event needs to be submitted VIA EMAIL no later than midnight on 9/10/17, following our standard Faction & Resource use/actions deadline. The deadline is normally the 5th of the month but an extension is being given due to the short time frame of the event info being available. Information gained from this Resource usage will be available at Check-In at the event; IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO ASK FOR THAT INFO! Players should please try to make sure they are going to be in attendance before sending in their Resource usage.
= MANDATORY CHECK-OUT =
BOTH DAYS:
All players are required to properly check-out at every event. Make sure you plan on doing this by seeking out a Herald to turn in your PC card and relevant game props along with you and your equipment's condition.
We will be doing a Check-Out after each day so that players can turn in their items.
If you checkout as a PC, you may not "check back in" after a period of time. Once you check out as a PC, your PC is done for the event day.
There may be limitations on how and where PCs can check out at an event; ask instead of assuming if you feel like your PC would leave early, and then staff can assign you a role after that.
== STORY INFO ==
For The Good of All
Friday, 5pm to 10pm and Saturday, Noon to 6pm
The people of Mardrun rejoice as news spreads like wildfire across the continent; the means to a cure, a real and full cure, has been found. A scholar in the Chapter of Light District of Starkhaven has uncovered the mysteries of the mana construct. This construct is a unique magic sequence that can be used to create a cleansing ritual that could fight back and destroy the dangerous corruption weapons of the mordok. A vocal proclamation has been made that Starkhaven is going to share this method with both the City-State of Newhope and the leaders of Clan Nightriver. A group of scholars has been dispatched to Starkhaven to get what they need and return to the main colony and begin work on creating a cure.
With a chance to find a cure seemingly on the horizon, word has also reached the ears of desperate people. Refugees afflicted by the corruption or bitter due to recently losing loved ones before a cure was given, have been rumored to be on the road and following the supposed "cure". People often get desperate and sometimes dangerous when their lives or the lives of their loved ones are on the line.
A tavern located along the newly created roadway of Newhope has heard word that some of the bandits that fled Daven's Reach have been involved in stirring up some trouble. It is suspected that this group is taking advantage of the refugees and hopes to capitalize on this desperate situation.
The scholars have sent word to Newhope that they are going to wait for an escort back to the main colony and fear for their safety while on the road. Newhope has dispatched a unit of soldiers to reach and escort them, but they will not arrive for two more days. A general call for help has gone out for any people of note and trustworthy factions in the nearby villages and settlements to provide support. The fate of many lives and perhaps that of the entire continent, rests on the mana construct reaching the Newhope colony safely and intact.
