== IMPORTANT UPDATE ==
Due to the state of the COVID-19 situation, we have cancelled the September LARP event.
Instead, we are doing some online options for player involvement with their PCs based on current storyline.
== DATE & TIME ==
Important Dates:
Tuesday, September 15th
- Resources & Organization Action Deadlines
- PC Involvement Deadline (See below)
== MEMBERSHIP INFO==
***Due to the event itself being cancelled, all players who sign up for a Basic, Standard, or Premium memberships will automatically be awarded the +2 bonus attendance exp.
MEMBERSHIP UPDATES AND EXP BOOSTS
Due to the Covid-19 situation, we have decided to do the following:
1) Continue offering CLOUT as a special Perk option that is available to everyone as one of the membership perks.
2) Expand on the +2 bonus Attendance exp for Standard and Premium memberships to reflect on the events that would have had multiple days (on top of the base exp offered by each membership).
3) Add a “tiered exp bonus” based on the chosen membership of the month. Basic will give another +1, Standard +2, and Premium a +3 bonus. This is IN ADDITION to the Exp awarded by the membership AND the bonus attendance exp we are offering.
For example, in September:
-Basic membership will award 6 exp (3 base + 2 attendance + 1 tier bonus)
-Standard will award 9 exp (3 base + 4 attendance + 2 tier bonus)
-Premium will award 13 exp (6 base + 4 attendance + 3 tier bonus)

*NOTE: Signing up a PC to get involved in one of the encounters available DOES require a membership to do so:
- Basic allows involvement as an NPC group as dictated by what is currently going on in the story
- Standard allows 1 PC to focus on 1 option (or NPC option, as above)
- Premium allows up to 2 PCs to focus on 2 options (different or the same, or NPC option, as above).
To clarify, you may focus on 2 options. Either with 1 PC taking both option slots, or 2 PCs splitting the options slots (For example: PC 1 may focus on Recovery Aid and PC 2 may also focus on Recovery Aid or choose another focus).
== STORY INFO & SPECIAL MECHANICS ==
Last month, a considerable effort was put forth by traveling adventurers and organizations alike as people from all corners of Mardrun showed up and immediately went to work helping the people of Clan Ironmound. They either started their own efforts or joined in on some of the smaller groups that had arrived several months ago and already began assisting the Clan. Labor pools were coordinated, teams deployed to different areas to work, armed patrols kept bandits in check, healers tended to sick or injured, and mess halls and social spaces created to tend to food, water, and rest. Although no coin was promised and it was clear that contracts were not available to travelers coming in, a considerable amount of people showed up to help and a handful of them even donated their own coin to the cause. Clan Ironmound Chieftains and leaders were impressed; their bristled nature softening as progress continued through the month.
There is still a lot of work to be done; rubble takes time to clear, dead Ulven bodies recovered need funeral rites and pyres, and the bandits are notorious for being stubborn and hard to truly dispatch. Talk around the work camps has been high in morale all month but a common question continues to spring up; will this effort continue in earnest or will it fade out? Rumors begin to spread as well. Some craftsmen and travelers seem to be negotiating payment for their services or being sought after by Chieftains with wealth and a goal to see their areas focused on or cleaned up first. Warriors talk about scouts finding possible bandit camps that could be attacked and their forces defeated decisively. Diplomats loosen their tongues about Clan Ironmound's stance regarding the Lorespeake Cache and whether they are willing to allow access to it or not. While morale and good intentions still remain key to all of this progress, some personal agendas or the allure of coin begin to darken the edges of the humanitarian efforts of the collective group.
One thing is for certain; Clan Ironmound is keenly watching what the travelers and helpers are doing and focusing on. Now more than ever, the bigger picture of the relief efforts is being weighed by those in leadership positions to see if the efforts are left wanting.
= AUGUST MEMBERSHIP SPECIAL MECHANICS =
1) Optional PC Involvement Encounter and Deadline
Players this month have some options to get involved in the current story line if they so choose. This DOES require Standard or Premium memberships for PCs to be involved!
A Basic membership allows a player to be involved as an NPC group as dictated by the story surrounding the event. This will not have a tremendous impact but is still a great way to be involved!
A Standard membership allows a player to involve ONE PC in ONE option.
A Premium membership allows a player to involve ONE PC in TWO options -OR- TWO PCs in up to TWO options total.
You simply sign up via the link above and detail out which PCs are involved and what their "focus" is.
The options available are:
1) CONTINUE WITH RELIEF EFFORTS: Various skills can be useful in helping a relief effort, from tending to wounded, keeping labor crews in good shape, and getting your hands dirty and just moving things. Coin can also be donated to the relief effort as well, allowing faster or more skilled recovery efforts. This option is being broken down into two additional options; "Continue volunteer efforts to help for free" or "Continue with recovery efforts in exchange for earning coin". LOOKING TO EARN COIN MAY SOUR SOME OF THE DIPLOMATIC EFFORTS BEING MADE.
2) CONTINUE WITH ARMED PATROLS OF THE PASS: With wagons and trade goods being moved through The Pass, bandits have crawled out of their hiding places to prey on the easiest targets. Armed patrols and scouts are needed to help patrol The Pass and keep it safe, escort wagons of supplies, and keep the borders of Clan Ironmound territory safe. This option is being broken down into two additional options; "Aggressively hunting bandits in the pass" or "Staying in reserve to help with defenses or support skills".
3) CONTINUE DIPLOMATIC & SCHOLARLY PROPOSALS: Clan Ironmound's leadership is reluctant to let anyone tamper with or investigate the magical cache unearthed during the earthquake and landslides. Social and diplomatic envoys, along with those with extensive Lore skills and knowledge, can work together to submit proposals to the Ironmound leaders to consider allowing others access to the unearthed cache. Players will need to coordinate with each other OUTSIDE of the event to create proposals and diplomatic messages before submitting them during sign-up. The significant efforts of August's PC encounter regarding Relief Efforts and Armed Patrols has softened the stance of the Clan Ironmound leadership but it is still a sensitive topic for them. Successful "CONTINUE WITH RELIEF EFFORTS" and "CONTINUE ARMED PATROLS OF THE PASS" can also contribute to this effort, allowing a coordinated player response to have a greater impact. PLAYERS LOOKING TO MAKE COIN IN THE RELIEF EFFORTS MAY HAVE AN EFFECT OF SOURING SOME DIPLOMATIC RELATIONS.
The deadline for this involvement is Tuesday, September 15th.
Players who assist their involvement with the encounter with Resources or Organization actions will make a significantly larger impact on their PCs involvement; whether that be more impactful or more profitable.
At the end of the month, we will release a story narrative detailing out how the story progresses.
