Hey Matthew, here's some clarification to your questions. Currently it's still up in the air if this tradeskill will officially come to the game, and some of the ideas have changed since this thread.
1. The protect spell cost comes from the Preacher, no magic skill requirement from those who are a part of the group prayer or sermon.
2. The different deity's is a good point and definitely important for consideration.
3. Ward of Divinity isn't being considered for this tradeskill anymore. Note that Magic Immunity would have affected ALL magic; this includes the obvious negative effect offensive spells but would also block divine healing, auras, recalling, and other neutral or positive magic effects.
