== EVENT INFO ==

There will be some water brought in for use during the event, but players should also plan to bring their own and carry it with them.
** Plan ahead, be self sufficient, and bring your own food/water! ***
= CAMPING, BATHROOMS, FIRES, WATER, & ELECTRICITY =
- There is free tent camping space available at this event. The nearby Mobil gas station/hotel right next to the interstate exit (1.3 miles away from the property) has very reasonable rates for rooms. You can call them at (608) 562-6000.
- We will be renting a portable toilet for this event. We will also plan on bringing a Lug-A-Loo portable toilet for emergencies. Please plan on driving 1.3 miles back to McDonald's/Gas Station should you need a bathroom facility.
- Campfires are allowed as long as they are PRE-APPROVED BY A HERALD and either in an above-ground firepit or dug into a below-ground firepit. We are planning on using a firepit during the event.
- There is no running water at the site.
- There is no electricity at the new land.
= REGISTRATION AREA & PLAYING FIELD INFO =
New Lisbon, WI
- The entrance to the property is flanked by several driveways we have permission to park on if needed. Please check-in or get directions before you park. You are allowed to park on the road as an overflow but you MUST park on our side of a road, try to keep the entire vehicle off the road, and minimize foot traffic on the road.
- The property boundaries to the north, west, and east are marked by GREEN flagging tape. The neighbor's driveway is also a boundary to the east. The southern boundary is the clearing leading up to the interstate.
- There are several deer stands on the property; at this time, we ask that you do not go into any of them.
- Do not cut down any trees without approval.
- Do not use adjacent driveways/neighbor property without explicit permission!
= NIGHT CONDITIONS =
This event will take place during night conditions on Saturday, April 14th. After 8pm all night-time rules and glow effects are in place.
= WEATHER CONDITIONS =
This event is in April, so plan accordingly! We will have loaner garb for NPCs but please make sure to plan to bring extra layers to keep warm; gloves, boots, etc. It could be warm or cold during the day and then it could be rather cold at night.
Be prepared; IT MOST LIKELY WILL BE COLD ENOUGH TO NEED LAYERS!
Temperatures will most likely be fairly cold so plan ahead.
*** Base/thermal layers do not need to fit Decorum but outer layers do... please make sure you get your garb checked! PLAN ACCORDINGLY! ***
= NPC ROLE SIGN-UP & PRE-REG/PREPAY =
There are several NPC roles available during this event. If you are interested in playing an NPC role, please contact us ahead of time to let us know... see below for options.
There are dedicated monster roles needed for this event, so please contact us if you are interested in this role.
Players MUST contact us and get signed up ahead of time for Mordok roles!
- The "NPC Sign-Up Deadline" is the same cut-off as the pre-pay deadline (by Thursday, 4/5/18) and this will add you to the list to get a more detailed or involved NPC. This gives us time to flesh out a backstory, details, and how your NPC can impact the scenario. You are also required to pay ahead of time via the pre-reg/pre-pay options AND EMAIL US to let us know what kind of NPC you prefer. The staff will then email you back your detailed NPC role before the event, usually a bit after the pre-reg deadline ends. This also gets you on the list for the provided meal.
= PC PRE-REG / FASTER CHECK-IN / SKILL UPDATES =
- The "PC Pre-Reg/Pre-Pay Deadline" is the week before the event (by Thursday, 4/5/18) and this will place you on the list to get the pre-reg meal and automatically add you to the "Faster Check-In" line, allowing you to register much quicker at the event.
- Players who miss the Pre-Reg/Pre-Pay deadline may still sign up for the "Faster Check-In" by emailing us ahead of time. (Before Wednesday, so NO LATER THAN Midnight, Tuesday, 4/10/18)
- If you have updates to your PC, DO THEM AHEAD OF TIME AND EMAIL US THE CHANGES!!! You cannot do skill updates and the "Faster Check-In" as we prepare your card/bag/wristband/etc early in preparation of your arrival and day-of PCs can wait until after registration is complete for the majority of the players and then, IF WE HAVE TIME, we can update your PC skills. There is no guarantee we can do this at an event due to the registration time needs.
= LATE PLAYERS =
We are following a strict time-block for check-in/registration so players will be expected to arrive on time to get registered and then attend the game briefing. This helps us make sure we stay on time and keep the game starting when we need it to. If a player is going to be late and they are going to arrive after registration closes, they are expected to notify the staff by emailing the lasthopelarp@gmail.com address to let us know. This allows us to pull the PC cards and info and prepare their items for when they arrive. Failure to do this will result in an exp penalty if a player arrives after reg closes but before the briefing, or a forced NPC role if the player arrives after the briefing. This does not mean we do not have wiggle room; all you have to do is notify us ahead of time via email so we can prepare accordingly.
= EVENT SPECIAL MECHANICS =
1) Outpost Construction and Tasks
After last month's successful campaign to drive the mordok back into the swamp, the war effort has shifted to maintaining patrols and trying to bring up supplies to build fortified defenses. This event will feature two measurable objectives; Outpost Tasks and Patrol Tasks. Outpost Tasks will encompass the construction, defense, supply, and logistical needs of the up-and-coming outpost. The more tasks completed, the more successful the outpost being constructed. Patrol Tasks will encompass the territory knowledge, supply lines, deployment of martial forces, and knowledge of the adjacent forces in the war effort. The more tasks completed, the more successful the overall war effort in this area, and completing a target number of outpost and patrol tasks will result in a victory of the event.
= RESOURCE USAGE =
Players may have a PC/PCs use a Resource skill to make an impact on an event but only if they are planning on attending the upcoming event.
Resource Usage for this event needs to be submitted VIA EMAIL no later than midnight on 4/5/18. Information gained from this Resource usage will be available at Check-In at the event; IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO ASK FOR THAT INFO! Players should please try to make sure they are going to be in attendance before sending in their Resource usage.
= MANDATORY CHECK-OUT =
All players are required to properly check-out at every event. Make sure you plan on doing this by seeking out a Herald to turn in your PC card and relevant game props along with you and your equipment's condition.
We will be doing a Check-Out after each day so that players can turn in their items.
If you checkout as a PC, you may not "check back in" after a period of time. Once you check out as a PC, your PC is done for the event day.
There may be limitations on how and where PCs can check out at an event; ask instead of assuming if you feel like your PC would leave early, and then staff can assign you a role after that.
== STORY INFO ==
Stand Against the Black
Saturday, Noon to 10pm
Sunday, 9am to 3pm
News spreads like wildfire across Mardrun; the initial month of the war against the mordok is a success. While some warpacks of ulven and their allies experience stiff resistance in various parts of the swamp, the reports coming back from the front-line are relatively similar; the mordok are being beaten and driven further north across multiple areas. Victory after victory is recorded as the next plan of this initiative is drawn up.
These victories do not come lightly and have had a bloody cost. Scores of ulven and some of their allies are killed in combat as the invasion grinds to a halt as the warpacks venture deeper into the swamp. Mordok resistance is initially driven before the warriors and cut down in large numbers and then continues to get more cunning, organized, and coordinated. Venturing any further into the swamp would see warpacks isolated and overrun. Instead of pushing deeper into the swamp, the larger war effort is to patrol and hold this conquered territory with the intent to fall back to fortified positions which are now being constructed. With mordok driven north, it gives these construction crews room to build and move supplies and the peace of mind knowing that warriors stand between them and the monsters to the north. However, this moment of respite is brief and the opportunity is now.
Safe from roving mordok, engineers and construction foremen have scouted out the best possible locations for outposts. There still seems to be a lack of cohesive planning in how many outposts should be built in the large-scale effort, but construction has begun in earnest. As the mordok resistance continues to take its toll on the warriors campaigning in the swamp, the construction of these defenses are critical; every day that goes by gives the mordok a chance to lash out at the war effort or retake lost ground.
Following last month's success, the Warpack of Pack Dawnrock of Clan Shattered Spear has sent out a general call for aid to come and support the next step in this plan. Warriors of this pack and their allies recently endured hardship together last month as they fought to conquer territory and the Warpack leader is once again looking for help.
In this scenario event, players will either play existing or new Pack Dawnrock ulven of the Clan Shattered Spear Warpack assigned to this area or supporting allies as they focus on the next step of the plan. Numerous tasks await to make sure both the outpost is constructed, fortified, and viable along with the surrounding areas patrolled, maintained, and supply lines kept open.
