= CHARACTER WORKSHOP, DISCUSSION, PRACTICE =
Saturday will be an early bird registration but we will also be doing a character workshop. We will have a number of topics that we can cover from decorum, to player enhancement, to in-game role play, and learning skills and game rules. This is a great chance for new players to learn more about larping in general (and specifically our larp). We will also be doing a group discussion about the recent 1.5 rules changes along with a player contract session for anyone who has not been through one.
We might be posting a timeline for the workshop prior to the event; check back here or our Facebook group for more info.
= SPECIAL PRIZE GIVEAWAY =
To celebrate obtaining our very own land for larping, we are giving away a special prize... a new Epic Armoury Stronghold Foam Viking Earl sword!

*** Base/thermal layers do not need to fit Decorum but outer layers do... please make sure you get your garb checked! PLAN ACCORDINGLY! ***
= PLAYER CONTRACTS & TUTORIALS =
All players MUST go through a Player Contract each year.
We will be doing player contracts before the event on Saturday during the Workshop and will be doing combat tutorials and rules training.
= NPC ROLE SIGN-UP & PRE-REG/PREPAY =
There are several NPC roles available during this event. If you are interested in playing an NPC role, please contact us ahead of time to let us know... see below for options.
There are dedicated monster roles needed for this event, so please contact us if you are interested in this role. Players MUST contact us and get signed up ahead of time!
- The "NPC Sign-Up Deadline" is the same cut-off as the pre-pay deadline (by Friday, 11/17/17) and this will add you to the list to get a more detailed or involved NPC. This gives us time to flesh out a backstory, details, and how your NPC can impact the scenario. You are also required to pay ahead of time via the pre-reg/pre-pay options AND EMAIL US to let us know what kind of NPC you prefer. The staff will then email you back your detailed NPC role before the event, usually a bit after the pre-reg deadline ends.
- The "NPC Pre-Reg/Pre-Pay Deadline" is roughly a week before the event (by Friday, 11/17/17) and this will place you on the list to get the pre-reg meal. Even if you miss the NPC Sign-Up deadline, you can still pre-reg/pre-pay for an NPC role to get the provided meal but it may not gain you a detailed role.
= PC PRE-REG / FASTER CHECK-IN / LATE PLAYERS =
- The "PC Pre-Reg/Pre-Pay Deadline" is the week before the event (by Friday, 11/17/17) and this will place you on the list to get the pre-reg meal and automatically add you to the "Faster Check-In" line, allowing you to register much quicker at the event.
- Players who miss the Pre-Reg/Pre-Pay deadline may still sign up or the "Faster Check-In" by emailing us ahead of time. (By Wednesday, so NO LATER THAN Midnight, Tuesday, 11/21/17) If you have updates to your PC, DO THEM AHEAD OF TIME AND EMAIL US THE CHANGES; you cannot do skill updates and the "Faster Check-In" as we prepare your card/bag/wristband/etc early in preparation of your arrival.
We are following a stricter time-block for check-in/registration moving forward, so players will be expected to arrive on time to get registered and then attend the game briefing. If a player is going to be late and they are going to arrive after registration closes, they are expected to notify the staff by emailing the lasthopelarp@gmail.com address to let us know. This allows us to pull the PC cards and info and prepare their items for when they arrive. Failure to do this will result in an exp penalty if a player arrives after reg closes but before the briefing, or a forced NPC role if the player arrives after the briefing. This does not mean we do not have wiggle room; all you have to do is notify us ahead of time via email so we can prepare accordingly.
= EVENT SPECIAL MECHANICS =
Please read the following event specific mechanics that players should be aware of.
1) Ritual Headstart
A ritual will be given to the players at this event that they have to experiment with and try to find the correct sequence to fight the corruption. Any players or factions that submit any resource notes, lore journal entries, or turn over projects pertaining to the "creeping corruption" will result in additional clues being given to the player group in order to find the proper sequence. Please submit these no later than the PC/NPC pre-reg deadline of 11/17/17 so the event staff can plan accordingly.
= RESOURCE USAGE =
Players may have a PC/PCs use a Resource skill to make an impact on an event but only if they are planning on attending the upcoming event.
Resource Usage for this event needs to be submitted VIA EMAIL no later than midnight on 11/15/17, as we have allowed an extension this month. Information gained from this Resource usage will be available at Check-In at the event; IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO ASK FOR THAT INFO! Players should please try to make sure they are going to be in attendance before sending in their Resource usage.
= MANDATORY CHECK-OUT =
All players are required to properly check-out at every event. Make sure you plan on doing this by seeking out a Herald to turn in your PC card and relevant game props along with you and your equipment's condition.
We will be doing a Check-Out after each day so that players can turn in their items.
If you checkout as a PC, you may not "check back in" after a period of time. Once you check out as a PC, your PC is done for the event day.
There may be limitations on how and where PCs can check out at an event; ask instead of assuming if you feel like your PC would leave early, and then staff can assign you a role after that.
== STORY INFO ==
The Sum of its Parts
Saturday, 5pm to 9pm
With the recent faction conflict winding down in Clan Nightriver territory, attention has turned back towards the north. Earlier in the year during the summer, groups of adventurers were able to stop the mordok from continuing to establish a foothold in the Great Wolf's Hackles. Mordok activity has also been more idle after the large force devastated Clan Riverhead but reports from Clan Whiteoak and Clan Shattered Spear say that the mordok have still been active on their northern borders. With the winter fast approaching, it is still unclear as to the goals of the mordok.
One thing is for certain; desperation continues to grow for those that are afflicted by the corruption sickness. Every month the reported death toll continues to rise. It has been a year and half since the emergence of the "incurable" creeping corruption. Many bear the scars and maiming of dangerous attempts at curing and destroying the corruption and many more mourn for those who have died because of it. With the mana construct deciphered, built, and successfully turned over to both the City-State of Newhope and Clan Nightriver, there is hope that a cure is soon to be found.
Word has reached the colonies and Clan Nightriver; Clan Shattered Spear recently pushed back an advance of mordok in their territory. In a remote location in the forests on their northern border, they have come across a corruption idol. While this is not unusual, this idol seems to be infused with the same type of corruption as the potent magic that makes up the creeping corruption. Ulf Mossguard, the Warleader of Clan Shattered Spear, has pledged to keep the area clear of mordok to allow a team of people from the colonies to come and experiment on the corruption idol. The mordok continue to harass and raid the area, seeming intent to recover their lost idol and have been known to slip through the ulven patrols. The nearby ulven warpacks can only maintain the area for so long before they need to regroup in the safety of nearby villages.
This is the best chance to find a cure and help those afflicted before winter. It is a race against time to see if a team of volunteers and scholars can coordinate defenses around the idol and coordinate what must be done to finally create a viable cure to the creeping corruption.
