= PRE-REG FOOD & DRINKING WATER =

Pre-registered players will be provided a small trail ration meal on Friday and a small meal on Saturday. Only pre-registered players (PCs, NPCs, Monsters, etc) will be added to the list for food as this helps us plan ahead of time.

We will NOT be providing any feastware for the feast as both meals will be in-game.
There will be some water brought in for use during both days, but players should plan to bring their own and carry it with them.
** Plan ahead, be self sufficient, and bring your own food/water! ***

DAY 1 (Friday)
Rock Springs:
- There is NO camping available at this event, but players are free to stay at any of the campgrounds in the area. (Player's responsibility)
- There is an outhouse available onsite for use; we ask that guys use their "Man Perk" and pee in the woods so the outhouse doesn't fill up too fast. DO NOT USE THE TOILET AS A GARBAGE!
- A campfire is allowed at the main outpost of the property in the fire-pit but nowhere else. This will be a community fire.
- There is NO running water; you must bring your own in.
- There is NO electricity onsite.
DAY 2 (Saturday)
Apoc Paintball:

- There is a port-a-potty available onsite for use and there are also gas stations right across the street from the location.

- There is running water at the site, but it is recommended that players bring their own drinking water.
- There is electricity available at the location in the out-of-game area, but players should not rely on it other than for emergency charging or use.
= REGISTRATION AREA & PLAYING FIELD INFO =
DAY 1 (Friday)
Rock Springs:
- The main registration area will be down below near the road/entrance to the property.
- Players will park their vehicles off-property by/on the road; players must WALK everything into the game either on their packs or on sleds/carts. Vehicles CANNOT be used to drive up and down the hill this early in the year as the vehicles damage the driveway.
- The trip up the hill will be an in-game trek on foot; only the registration area will be out of game... however, players must remain on or close to the driveway and travel to the property as the driveway is actually on the neighbors land.
- No hunting stands, towers, or buildings may be used unless designated as approved.
- Players must not disturb any planted gardens or food plots on the land.
- There are honey bee hives on the property but are located far away from where players will normally be at. If you are allergic, be advised that there will be a higher chance of running into honey bees at the field.
- Garbage must be picked up and thrown away in trash cans or taken back with you, DO NOT THROW GARBAGE INTO FIRE PITS!
DAY 2 (Saturday)
Apoc Paintball:
- The main registration area will be at the MAIN SHACK of Apocalypse Paintball.
- Players will need to park at the UPPER PARKING LOT and then walk to registration; the field will need the closer parking for their own staff and Paintball players.
- The paintball field is live and will have players until 5pm, so Last Hope players are NOT to enter the field anywhere unless it is in the specified location we are playing at and with the rest of the group. This means we will be in the back trails of the property for part of the event, and then we will have access to the rest of the field after 5pm.
- Players are NOT to climb on anything that is not designed to be climbed on; don't scale walls or climb on things that are dangerous. Use walkways, ramps, ladders, etc.
- Exact boundaries for the event will be discussed at the game briefing ***
= NIGHT CONDITIONS =
BOTH DAYS:
Some of the event will be during Night Game conditions, so please plan accordingly!
Lanterns will NOT be provided to players so if you need light, plan ahead.
After 8:00pm, spells MUST have applicable glow bracelets and arrows MUST have yellow glow bracelets or some sort of approved glowing/light device.
*** Do not use large glowsticks on arrows or spells; they are too big and can cause injury! Use cheap glow bracelets or mini illumination sticks to attach around spells or onto arrows.***
= WEATHER CONDITIONS =
BOTH DAYS:
This event is in April, so plan accordingly! We will have loaner garb for NPCs but please make sure to plan to bring extra layers to keep warm; gloves, boots, etc. Bring layers. If it is warm enough, the snow could be all gone or still melting so bring appropriate footwear. Temperatures can be warmer during the day and dip down quite a bit (especially if we run around and sweat) at night.
*** Base/thermal layers do not need to fit Decorum but outer layers do... please make sure you get your garb checked! PLAN ACCORDINGLY! ***
= PLAYER CONTRACTS & TUTORIALS =
All players MUST go through a Player Contract each year.
We will be doing player contracts before the start of the 2nd day on Saturday at 1pm after registration closes.
= NPC ROLE SIGN-UP & PRE-REG/PREPAY =
BOTH DAYS:
There are several NPC roles available during this event and NPC players will have a split role since the event days are drastically different. If you are interested in playing an NPC role, please contact us ahead of time to let us know... see below for options.
- The "NPC Sign-Up Deadline" is 2 weeks prior to the event (by Sunday, 4/2/17) and this will add you to the list to get a more detailed or involved NPC. This gives us time to flesh out a backstory, details, and how your NPC can impact the scenario. You are also required to pay ahead of time via the pre-reg/pre-pay options AND EMAIL US to let us know what kind of NPC you prefer. The staff will then email you back your detailed NPC role before the event, usually a bit after the pre-reg deadline ends. This will also earn you 5 exp per event day instead of the standard 3 NPC exp per event day.
- The "NPC Pre-Reg/Pre-Pay Deadline" is 1 week prior to the event (by Sunday, 4/9/17) and this will place you on the list to get the pre-reg meal. Even if you miss the NPC Sign-Up deadline, you can still pre-reg/pre-pay for an NPC role to get the provided meal but it may not gain you a detailed role and you will only earn the standard 3 exp per day.
= PC PRE-REG / FASTER CHECK-IN / LATE PLAYERS =
BOTH DAYS:
- The "PC Pre-Reg/Pre-Pay Deadline" is 1 week prior to the event (by Sunday, 4/9/17) and this will place you on the list to get the pre-reg meal and automatically add you to the "Faster Check-In" line, allowing you to register much quicker at the event.
- Players who miss the Pre-Reg/Pre-Pay deadline may still sign up or the "Faster Check-In" by emailing us ahead of time. (No later than Midnight, Wednesday, 4/12/17) If you have updates to your PC, DO THEM AHEAD OF TIME AND EMAIL US THE CHANGES; you cannot do skill updates and the "Faster Check-In" as we prepare your card/bag/wristband/etc early in preparation of your arrival.
We are following a stricter time-block for check-in/registration moving forward, so players will be expected to arrive on time to get registered and then attend the game briefing. If a player is going to be late and they are going to arrive after registration closes, they are expected to notify the staff by emailing the lasthopelarp@gmail.com address to let us know. This allows us to pull the PC cards and info and prepare their items for when they arrive. Failure to do this will result in an exp penalty if a player arrives after reg closes but before the briefing, or a forced NPC role if the player arrives after the briefing. This does not mean we do not have wiggle room; all you have to do is notify us ahead of time via email so we can prepare accordingly.
= RESOURCE USAGE =
Players may have a PC/PCs use a Resource skill to make an impact on an event but only if they are planning on attending the upcoming event.
Resource Usage for this event needs to be submitted VIA EMAIL no later than midnight on 4/5/17, following our standard Faction & Resource use/actions deadline. Information gained from this Resource usage will be available at Check-In at the event; IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO ASK FOR THAT INFO! Players should please try to make sure they are going to be in attendance before sending in their Resource usage.
= MULTI-DAY SPLIT-LOCATION EVENT=
This event will run a two-day two-location format. This will allow us to cover two entirely different places in Mardrun during the same event weekend. Here is a list of a few event specific details...
1) Make sure you Pre-Register/Pre-Pay; that will help us with some preliminary planning.
2) Players may only play one of their PCs during one event day, like usual. However, the first scenario and second scenario are NOT running "at the same time" in the game world, which means PCs CAN travel and be involved in BOTH scenarios.
3) The 2nd event day "Apoc Paintball, Siege of Dave's Reach" may have a restriction on how many PCs can sign up for them; this is in the interest of fairness and balancing the scenarios so they are more realistic. PCs will be placed on a first-come first-serve system for the 2nd scenario; make sure you specify which scenario you want to sign-up for when you pre-register! We will place PCs on a waiting list to finalize right before the event, but pre-register & pre-pay early to make sure you are able to play the event scenario you want to.
= MANDATORY CHECK-OUT =
BOTH DAYS:
All players are required to properly check-out at every event. Make sure you plan on doing this by seeking out a Herald to turn in your PC card and relevant game props along with you and your equipment's condition.
We will be doing a Check-Out after each day so that players can turn in their items.
If you checkout as a PC, you may not "check back in" after a period of time. Once you check out as a PC, your PC is done for the event day.
There may be limitations on how and where PCs can check out at an event; ask instead of assuming if you feel like your PC would leave early, and then staff can assign you a role after that.
== STORY INFO ==
FIRST DAY SCENARIO: Swords or Plowshares
Friday, 4pm to 10pm
As both Clan Riverhead and the Great Forest bear the brunt of the newfound hostility of the mobilized mordok presence, it has become clearer than ever that the threat of the Mordok needs to be opposed. The sporadic defenses of Clan Shattered Spear, Clan Whiteoak, and Pack Longfang to the north are wholly inadequate in stopping a threat the size of what attacked Clan Riverhead. As the Clans to the south react and send help to Riverhead, attention has turned north in an effort to unite some of the Ulven and solidify the defenses against the mordok.
Before any major efforts are undertaken, some of the Clans want to know what kind of defensive plan could be viable. Several abandoned outposts and villages on the edge of Ulven territory could potentially be rebuilt and turned into part of the defenses against the Dirge Swamp and there are two immediate options. A small outpost in Clan Shattered Spear territory could be scouted out and turned into a military fortification, further enhancing the defensive potential of the north. There is also a small farmstead and the nearby abandoned trading post near Onsallas Village which could be examined for its potential in housing a farm that could grow anti-corruption reagents as was discussed at the recent political meeting. Either option will be a challenge as these abandoned outposts are full of unknowns. They will be lacking a number of basic amenities, their current status and knowledge of what needs to be done will be unknown, and the level of mordok or ulven activity in the area will vary until examination of the chosen location.
First Scenario Mechanics:
In this scenario, players will play part of an initiative to help either fortify defenses or scout out a viable option for growing anti-corruption reagents. The choice of which outpost to travel to and influence will rest upon the shoulders of those that travel the distance and carry the goods on their backs. This could rely heavily on supplies brought to the outpost, any trades used to help fix or do things, or work done to rebuild/repair/or expand on the outpost.
SECOND DAY SCENARIO: The Siege of Daven's Reach
Saturday, 2pm to 9pm
With the onset of the expanded Newhope territory and the beginning of the infrastructure Great Work, a large amount of attention has fallen to the safety and security of the Newhope lands and the new roads. Banditry has been a consistent problem throughout both colonial and ulven lands. In what has been viewed as a rather heavy handed response, Newhope has mobilized some troops and put a call out for a mercenary contract to help them retake Daven's Reach. The Reach has always been a property of Newhope but over the last two years has become a home to a number of displaced families, refugees, outlaws, and former pirates of New Oarsmeet. While the Reach has been known to house a large amount of unsavory people, a large number of families have found life at the Reach to be easier and less political.
The fact remains that Daven’s Reach is still owned by Newhope, especially Baroness Catherine who is a member of the Council of Ten. After a failed attempt to retake the Reach by hiring out mercenaries in the past, people expect the response to be absolute this time around. The way that Newhope is making their actions known and spreading the word about hiring on adventurers and mercenaries to retake the Reach shows boastful actions, of making a statement to all in Newhope territory.
For those that are signing on to help, a unique challenge is presented. Should too few rally behind this contract to attack and retake the Reach, the mercenaries hired could find themselves in a very dangerous and lethal predicament. Should too many rally behind the contract and overrun the Reach, it is expected that the payout and sharing of the spoils of the fight could be minimal at best. Anyone involved, either in swinging a sword or helping with supplies, finds themselves in a moral dilemma as the upcoming actions could further displace or even harm families who have nothing to do with the actual banditry operating out of Daven’s Reach.
There has been a small but vocal movement in either actively defending the people of Daven’s Reach or in trying to find an amicable or even peaceful solution with Percival, the current leader of the people of Daven’s Reach. How things play out are up to those that get involved and are willing to invest or risk in the current situation.
Second Scenario Mechanics:
In this scenario, players will participate and either play the forces planning and laying siege to Daven’s Reach or those that either take up the defense of Daven’s Reach or vie for their support.
This scenario may feature a hard PC cap to help us balance the forces available to both attackers and defenders. Your best bet is to pre-reg ASAP!
The scenario will feature the attackers making a plan to handle “on-screen” and “off-screen” forces prior to moving to the castle to fight. How difficult the fight will be and the overall success depends on both the management of armed forces and the actual siege itself.
There will be several special mechanics used in this event, finalized and revealed to the players at the event. This will involve battering rams, sapping/tunneling, and bags of rocks being dropped by defenders.
The siege will be broken up into “phases” where the attackers have to focus on and overtake areas and plant flags before they can move onto the next area. This will allow us to replicate the progressive fight (and allow the NPCs to shift and change as needed) to conduct the feel of the event. PC Faction members who field enough people to have a flag/banner may use their flag/banner to signify controlled areas (both controlling or defending) during the fight and may earn additional experience for their factions as this represents a directly visible display of a faction and their members during the scenario.
