- PC Entry: $30 (5 exp earned) at door, $26.25 pre-reg online which ends 3/15/17
- NPC Entry: $15 (3 exp earned, chance to earn 5 exp[see below]) at the door, $15.75 pre-reg online which ends 3/15/17
*NOTE: We are aware that this new structure is a discount for PCs who pre-reg but is technically a bit higher for NPCs. It looks weird, but these prices reflect some of the online transaction costs associated with using PayPal for our pre-registration system. We felt this structure was better than raising the walk-on price of NPCs.
*All entries include feast, detailed below
Pre-Reg is CLOSED.
== EVENT INFO ==
= FOOD AND WATER =
We are serving a small meal of green chili and bread.
*** You should plan on bringing some extra food and snacks to tide you over as no food will be provided the rest of the day. ***
We WILL be providing the feastware for the feast so you do not have to bring any feastware, but there may be additional food provided by players that might require it. The meal will be served between scenarios.
There might be water available for sale at the Apocalypse Paintball main building.
** Plan ahead, be self sufficient, and bring your own food/water! ***
= CAMPING, BATHROOMS & FACILITIES =
There is no camping available at this event.
here is a port-a-potty available onsite but there is no running water. However, there are gas stations and fast food places literally across the street.
= PLAYING FIELD TIMES =
The main registration area will be at or near the main shack Apocalypse Paintball. The paintball field is live and will have players until 5pm, so Last Hope players are NOT to enter the field anywhere unless it is in the specified location we are playing at and with the rest of the group.
This means we will be in the back trails of the property for part of the event, and then we will have access to the rest of the field after 5pm.
*** Exact boundaries for the event will be discussed at the game briefing ***
= NIGHT CONDITIONS =
Some of the event will be during Night Game conditions, so please plan accordingly!
Lanterns will NOT be provided to players so if you need light, plan ahead.
After 7:30pm, spells MUST have applicable glow bracelets and arrows MUST have yellow glow bracelets or some sort of approved glowing/light device.
*** Do not use large glowsticks on arrows or spells; they are too big and can cause injury! Use cheap glow bracelets or mini illumination sticks to attach around spells or onto arrows.***
= WINTER CONDITIONS =
This event is in March, so plan accordingly! We will have loaner garb for NPCs but please make sure to plan to bring extra layers to keep warm; gloves, boots, etc. Bring layers. If it is warm enough, the snow could be melting so bring appropriate footwear. Temperatures can be warmer during the day and dip down quite a bit (especially if we run around and sweat) at night.
*** Base/thermal layers do not need to fit Decorum but outer layers do... please make sure you get your garb checked! ***
*** PLAN ACCORDINGLY! ***
= PLAYER CONTRACTS & TUTORIALS =
We will be doing player contracts during the middle break of the event. All players MUST go through a Player Contract each year.
If you have already gone through the training and tutorials, then feel free to use this time as an open social or coordinate with other players/staff.
= NPC ROLE PRE-REG / FASTER CHECK-IN =
There are several NPC roles available during this event for both scenarios. If you are interested in playing an NPC role, please contact us ahead of time to let us know.
Anyone who emails us (AND PRE-REGISTERS) 2 weeks prior to the event (by Sunday, 3/4/17) will earn 5 exp instead of 3 exp for their NPC role and will be added to the list to get a more detailed/involved NPC role and to our faster check-in line.
= PC PRE-REG / FASTER CHECK-IN / LATE PLAYERS =
Players that pre-reg as their PC by paying ahead of time will be added to our pre-reg list, allowing you a faster check-in.
*** The deadline for this pre-reg is the Wednesday before the event no later than Midnight, 3/15/17.***
If you have updates to your PC, DO THEM AHEAD OF TIME AND EMAIL US THE CHANGES; you cannot do skill updates and the faster check-in as we prepare your card/bag/wristband/etc early in preparation of your arrival.
We are following a stricter time-block for check-in/registration moving forward, so players will be expected to arrive on time to get registered and then attend the game briefing. If a player is going to be late and they are going to arrive after registration closes, they are expected to notify the staff by emailing the lasthopelarp@gmail.com address to let us know. This allows us to pull the PC cards and info and prepare their items for when they arrive. Failure to do this will result in an exp penalty if a player arrives after reg closes but before the briefing, or a forced NPC role if the player arrives after the briefing. This does not mean we do not have wiggle room; all you have to do is notify us ahead of time via email so we can prepare accordingly.
= RESOURCE USAGE =
Resource Usage for this event needs to be submitted no later than midnight, Sunday 03/5/17 (the 5th of the event's month). Information gained from this Resource usage will be available at Check-In at the event; IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO ASK FOR THAT INFO! Players should please try to make sure they are going to be in attendance before sending in their Resource usage.
= MULTI-SCENARIO EVENT SPECIFIC MECHANICS=
This event will run a two scenario format. This will allow us to cover two entirely different places in Mardrun during the same event. Here is a list of a few event specific details
1) Players may only play one of their PCs during one scenario. During the other scenario, they will fill in as one of the available NPC roles. Make sure you pre-register; that will help us with some preliminary planning.
2) The first scenario and second scenario are running "at the same time" in the game world, which means PCs cannot be involved in both scenarios.
3) We ask that if you have it, please bring extra garb to change into during the scenario changes so that we can try to theme the NPCs a certain way. Earth tones and regular peasant and viking garb works great, especially during the first scenario where it is predominantly ulven, and the Newhope territory inhabitants will have basic/generic attire.
4) Some scenarios may have a restriction on how many PCs can sign up for them; this is in the interest of fairness and balancing the scenarios so they are more realistic. PCs will be placed on a first-come first-serve scenario for the event; make sure you specify which scenario you
want to sign-up for when you pre-register! We will place PCs on a waiting list to finalize day-of, but pre-register early to make sure you are able to play the event scenario you want to.
= MANDATORY CHECK-OUT =
All players are required to properly check-out at every event. Make sure you plan on doing this by seeking out a Herald to turn in your PC card and relevant game props along with you and your equipment's condition.
== STORY INFO ==
FIRST SCENARIO: Sticks...
12:30pm to 3:00pm
With the onset of the spring thaw, the mordok previously sighted in the Great Forest have finally made their move. Clan Riverhead calls for urgent help; mordok have come out of the forest in unprecedented numbers and are employing a simple but devastating mob-like strategy. It is unknown how the Mordok were able to move these types of numbers into the great forest undetected, and any estimates as to their numbers are quickly proven to be in error as yet even more of the monsters emerge from the trees. Allies are anticipated to send warriors to the aid of Clan Riverhead, but the intensity of the attack from the mordok may reveal to them a destroyed Clan before they even have a chance to arrive. Nearby warpacks of Clan Shattered Spear to the west, Pack Goldenfield to the east, and groups of adventurers or mercenaries that have caught wind of the situation on the road have moved to help the people of Clan Riverhead. However, this early on the fighting means that the best these defenders can hope for is to stall the mordok while the people of Riverhead evacuate.
An impromptu battle line has formed near the edge of the Great Forest and south of the main settlement of Clan Riverhead. Riverhead's largest settlement has already fallen to the mordok and its people are on the run. With the goal of holding back the tide, the line is sparse and many villages are located beyond its protection.
Clan Shattered Spear warriors have deployed to the west to defend and Clan Goldenfield to the east. Your group has taken up the center of the defensive line and has been assigned a small group of Clan Riverhead support personnel and a unit of Clan Riverhead Militia has been assigned to act as your reserve.
Your task is simple... hold the line. Hold for as long as possible to give the people of Clan Riverhead the best chance to escape and survive.
First Scenario Mechanics:
For this scenario, players will either be playing PCs coming to the aid of Clan Riverhead or Clan Riverhead defenders trying to stall the destruction of their homeland. Factions committing troops to assist the fight can make an impact on how difficult this scenario is. NPCs will follow a respawn mechanic that will dwindle their available numbers as they die. Should the defenders be driven from the area early on, all players will play NPCs to round out the remainder of the scenario. However, the defending forces success hinges on the length of time they are able to defend without actively retreating or being forced from the area.
SECOND SCENARIO: ...Stones
5:00pm to 8:30pm
After the recent announcement from Lord Baron Richards as to the decided upon Great Work, the City-State of Newhope has wasted no time. The newly sovereign City-State has committed to an ambitious project of infrastructure improvements within their territories the likes of which has never been seen on Mardrun. Central to the first phase of improvements is a highway linking all of the major settlements within Newhope territory. Along the path of the proposed highway, locations are being identified to provide basic amenities and shelter to travelers, workers, traders, and soldiers alike. Abandoned farmsteads are being reclaimed, and hamlets previously consisting of a mere handful of buildings are suddenly finding themselves hubs of activity.
If successful, travel in Newhope territory will become much easier on merchants, travelers, and soldiers on patrol.
You have made your way to one of these hamlets to partake in the lucrative contracts available to both skilled tradesmen and unskilled laborers alike. Take care in your approach for while hard work will be rewarded with silver, profiteering and theft have been rampant and will be rewarded with coin of a different color.
Second Scenario Mechanics:
For this scenario, players will have a chance to help build and do work to expand the infrastructure of Newhope's lands. Work orders of different projects will be drafted that need to be accomplished and there will be plenty of opportunity to ply trades and skills that PCs may have to help this effort. There may be unique ways to use trades or lore skills to help the projects of the scenario.
