== EVENT INFO ==
= PRE-REG FOOD & DRINKING WATER =
Pre-registered players will be provided a small meal on Saturday. Only pre-registered players (PCs, NPCs, Monsters, etc) will be added to the list for food as this helps us plan ahead of time.
*** You should plan on bringing some extra food and snacks to tide you over as no food will be provided the rest of the day. ***
We will NOT be providing feastware for the feast as the meal will be in-game; please make sure you bring feastware!
There will be some water brought in for use during the event, but players should plan to bring their own and carry it with them.
** Plan ahead, be self sufficient, and bring your own food/water! ***
= CAMPING, BATHROOMS, FIRES, WATER, & ELECTRICITY =
- There is no camping available at this event. However, the nearby Mobil gas station/hotel right next to the interstate exit (1.3 miles away from the property) has very reasonable rates for rooms. You can call them at (608) 562-6000.
- There is no bathroom available onsite for use but we will plan on bringing a Lug-A-Loo portable toilet for emergencies. Please plan on driving 1.3 miles back to McDonald's/Gas Station should you need a bathroom facility.
- Campfires are allowed as long as they are PRE-APPROVED BY A HERALD and either in an above-ground firepit or dug into a below-ground firepit. We are planning on using a firepit during the event.
- There is no running water at the site; it is recommended that players bring their own drinking water.
- There is no electricity at the new land.
= REGISTRATION AREA & PLAYING FIELD INFO =
New Lisbon, WI
- The entrance to the property is flanked by several driveways we have permission to park on. Please check-in or get directions before you park, but you are allowed to park on the road. (Unless the driveway is finished enough in time to park)
- The property boundaries to the north, west, and east are marked by GREEN flagging tape. The neighbor's driveway is also a boundary to the east. The southern boundary is the clearing leading up to the interstate.
- There are several deer stands on the property; at this time, we ask that you do not go into any of them.
- Currently there are no bathrooms (except for an emergency Lug-A-Loo portable bucket toilet), running water, or electricity at the new land.
= NIGHT CONDITIONS =
This event will not take place during night conditions.
= WEATHER CONDITIONS =
This event is in March, so plan accordingly! We will have loaner garb for NPCs but please make sure to plan to bring extra layers to keep warm; gloves, boots, etc.
Be prepared; IT COULD BE COLD ENOUGH TO NEED LAYERS! Temperatures will most likely be fairly cold so plan ahead.
*** Base/thermal layers do not need to fit Decorum but outer layers do... please make sure you get your garb checked! PLAN ACCORDINGLY! ***
= NPC ROLE SIGN-UP & PRE-REG/PREPAY =
There are several NPC roles available during this event. If you are interested in playing an NPC role, please contact us ahead of time to let us know... see below for options.
There are dedicated monster roles needed for this event, so please contact us if you are interested in this role.
Players MUST contact us and get signed up ahead of time for Mordok roles!
- The "NPC Sign-Up Deadline" is the same cut-off as the pre-pay deadline (by Thursday, 3/8/18) and this will add you to the list to get a more detailed or involved NPC. This gives us time to flesh out a backstory, details, and how your NPC can impact the scenario. You are also required to pay ahead of time via the pre-reg/pre-pay options AND EMAIL US to let us know what kind of NPC you prefer. The staff will then email you back your detailed NPC role before the event, usually a bit after the pre-reg deadline ends. This also gets you on the list for the provided meal.
= PC PRE-REG / FASTER CHECK-IN / SKILL UPDATES =
- The "PC Pre-Reg/Pre-Pay Deadline" is the week before the event (by Thursday, 3/8/18) and this will place you on the list to get the pre-reg meal and automatically add you to the "Faster Check-In" line, allowing you to register much quicker at the event.
- Players who miss the Pre-Reg/Pre-Pay deadline may still sign up for the "Faster Check-In" by emailing us ahead of time. (Before Wednesday, so NO LATER THAN Midnight, Tuesday, 3/13/18)
- If you have updates to your PC, DO THEM AHEAD OF TIME AND EMAIL US THE CHANGES!!! You cannot do skill updates and the "Faster Check-In" as we prepare your card/bag/wristband/etc early in preparation of your arrival and day-of PCs can wait until after registration is complete for the majority of the players and then, IF WE HAVE TIME, we can update your PC skills. There is no guarantee we can do this at an event due to the registration time needs.
= LATE PLAYERS =
We are following a stricter time-block for check-in/registration moving forward, so players will be expected to arrive on time to get registered and then attend the game briefing. If a player is going to be late and they are going to arrive after registration closes, they are expected to notify the staff by emailing the lasthopelarp@gmail.com address to let us know. This allows us to pull the PC cards and info and prepare their items for when they arrive. Failure to do this will result in an exp penalty if a player arrives after reg closes but before the briefing, or a forced NPC role if the player arrives after the briefing. This does not mean we do not have wiggle room; all you have to do is notify us ahead of time via email so we can prepare accordingly.
= EVENT SPECIAL MECHANICS =
1) NPC Reinforcements
Players who are fulfilling the NPC Warriors of this event will be able to come back a certain number of times as a new warrior until the "group" has run out of warriors. This means that while dying as a warrior NPC will not mean you are out of the event the rest of the day, it does mean that your death will dwindle the available "martial forces" of the warpack in this section of the swamp. Once this warpack runs out of warriors, NPCs will only be able to come back as "lightly armored, lightly skilled, lightly armed" ulven supporters to the warpack. Managing your martial forces will be critical at this event.
2) Conquering Swamp Territory
Because this event reflects the ulven marching to war and invading the swamp, we are trying to replicate the fact that there are no established defenses in this part of the swamp. For this event, we will not be using the fortified outpost but instead we will be using a "base camp in the field". It will be up to the players to maintain defenses around this base camp and coordinate attacks to push deeper into the swamp. For this event, the "outpost" will not be in use as a primary staging location.
= RESOURCE USAGE =
Players may have a PC/PCs use a Resource skill to make an impact on an event but only if they are planning on attending the upcoming event.
Resource Usage for this event needs to be submitted VIA EMAIL no later than midnight on 3/5/18. Information gained from this Resource usage will be available at Check-In at the event; IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO ASK FOR THAT INFO! Players should please try to make sure they are going to be in attendance before sending in their Resource usage.
= MANDATORY CHECK-OUT =
All players are required to properly check-out at every event. Make sure you plan on doing this by seeking out a Herald to turn in your PC card and relevant game props along with you and your equipment's condition.
We will be doing a Check-Out after each day so that players can turn in their items.
If you checkout as a PC, you may not "check back in" after a period of time. Once you check out as a PC, your PC is done for the event day.
There may be limitations on how and where PCs can check out at an event; ask instead of assuming if you feel like your PC would leave early, and then staff can assign you a role after that.
== STORY INFO ==
The Wolves of War
Saturday, 11am to 5pm
With the focused attention of the ulven clans shifting north and the support of most of the continent, plans continue to move forward with the Shield of Mardrun project. It is still too early to know for sure what the final product of this initiative will be, but heavy effort is being put into making this work. Caravans of supplies and building materials along with numerous warpacks filled with ulven looking to earn honor continue to move north or stage in the nearby clan territories.
Regardless of the supply lines and logistical support, everyone eagerly awaits the first and critical step; taking the fight into the dirge swamp. With the mild winter comes a chance to start earlier than expected and send warpacks into the swamp and carve out territory that can be controlled by the ulven. For generations the ulven have done little more than stand on the edge of the dirge and look north into the unknowns of the swamp, only a brave few venturing into its lands on daring or foolish expeditions. Now, the ulven bring war to the mordok of the dirge swamp.
The success of this war will ride on a combined effort of military forces and the defenses built by supporting units, but many know that brave warriors stepping foot into the swamp to face the dangers it holds will make or break this war early on.
As battle plans are formulated by the warleaders of the ulven and their colonial allies, the success of this first step will require territory to be taken and the mordok to be driven back as far as possible. From the northern borders of both Clan Shattered Spear and Clan Whiteoak and the fringes of the settlements of Serai and Onsallas, this massive effort of moving warriors north will rely on each group pushing into the dirge and cutting off the mordok from getting too close. Should this first invasion attack proof successful, it should buy the supply lines and construction crews the time they need to begin making fortifications that should prove invaluable to maintaining defenses in the future.
In this scenario event, players will play ulven warriors, volunteering allies, or camp supporters that have been assigned a section of the swamp to conquer. The success of this military campaign rides on the ability for this warpack to defeat and drive the mordok back.
