== EVENT INFO ==
= PRE-REG FOOD & DRINKING WATER =
Pre-registered players will be provided a small meal on Saturday. Only pre-registered players (PCs, NPCs, Monsters, etc) will be added to the list for food as this helps us plan ahead of time.
*** You should plan on bringing some extra food and snacks to tide you over as no food will be provided the rest of the day. ***
We will NOT be providing feastware for the feast as the meal will be in-game; please make sure you bring feastware!
There will be some water brought in for use during the event, but players should plan to bring their own and carry it with them.
** Plan ahead, be self sufficient, and bring your own food/water! ***
= CAMPING, BATHROOMS, FIRES, WATER, & ELECTRICITY =
- There is no camping available at this event. However, the nearby Mobil gas station/hotel right next to the interstate exit (1.3 miles away from the property) has very reasonable rates for rooms. You can call them at (608) 562-6000.
- There is no bathroom available onsite for use but we will plan on bringing a Lug-A-Loo portable toilet for emergencies. Please plan on driving 1.3 miles back to McDonald's/Gas Station should you need a bathroom facility.
- Campfires are allowed as long as they are PRE-APPROVED BY A HERALD and either in an above-ground firepit or dug into a below-ground firepit. We are planning on using a firepit during the event.
- There is no running water at the site; it is recommended that players bring their own drinking water.
- There is no electricity at the new land.
= REGISTRATION AREA & PLAYING FIELD INFO =

- There are several deer stands on the property; at this time, we ask that you do not go into any of them.
- Currently there are no bathrooms, running water, or electricity at the new land.
= NIGHT CONDITIONS =
This event will not take place during night conditions.
= WEATHER CONDITIONS =
This event is in January, so plan accordingly! We will have loaner garb for NPCs but please make sure to plan to bring extra layers to keep warm; gloves, boots, etc.
Bring layers; IT WILL BE COLD ENOUGH TO NEED THEM! Temperatures will most likely be fairly cold so dress in layers!
*** Base/thermal layers do not need to fit Decorum but outer layers do... please make sure you get your garb checked! PLAN ACCORDINGLY! ***
= NPC ROLE SIGN-UP & PRE-REG/PREPAY =
There are several NPC roles available during this event. If you are interested in playing an NPC role, please contact us ahead of time to let us know... see below for options.
There are dedicated monster roles needed for this event, so please contact us if you are interested in this role. Players MUST contact us and get signed up ahead of time!
- The "NPC Sign-Up Deadline" is the same cut-off as the pre-pay deadline (by Friday, 1/12/18) and this will add you to the list to get a more detailed or involved NPC. This gives us time to flesh out a backstory, details, and how your NPC can impact the scenario. You are also required to pay ahead of time via the pre-reg/pre-pay options AND EMAIL US to let us know what kind of NPC you prefer. The staff will then email you back your detailed NPC role before the event, usually a bit after the pre-reg deadline ends. This also gets you on the list for the provided meal.
= PC PRE-REG / FASTER CHECK-IN / SKILL UPDATES =
- The "PC Pre-Reg/Pre-Pay Deadline" is the week before the event (by Friday, 1/12/18) and this will place you on the list to get the pre-reg meal and automatically add you to the "Faster Check-In" line, allowing you to register much quicker at the event.
- Players who miss the Pre-Reg/Pre-Pay deadline may still sign up for the "Faster Check-In" by emailing us ahead of time. (Before Wednesday, so NO LATER THAN Midnight, Tuesday, 1/16/18)
- If you have updates to your PC, DO THEM AHEAD OF TIME AND EMAIL US THE CHANGES!!! You cannot do skill updates and the "Faster Check-In" as we prepare your card/bag/wristband/etc early in preparation of your arrival and day-of PCs can wait until after registration is complete for the majority of the players and then, IF WE HAVE TIME, we can update your PC skills. There is no guarantee we can do this at an event due to the registration time needs.
= LATE PLAYERS =
We are following a stricter time-block for check-in/registration moving forward, so players will be expected to arrive on time to get registered and then attend the game briefing. If a player is going to be late and they are going to arrive after registration closes, they are expected to notify the staff by emailing the lasthopelarp@gmail.com address to let us know. This allows us to pull the PC cards and info and prepare their items for when they arrive. Failure to do this will result in an exp penalty if a player arrives after reg closes but before the briefing, or a forced NPC role if the player arrives after the briefing. This does not mean we do not have wiggle room; all you have to do is notify us ahead of time via email so we can prepare accordingly.
= EVENT SPECIAL MECHANICS =
1) Joining the Great Wolf's Hunt
Because of the highly honored and ritualistic nature of the first full moon of the year, ulven PCs can attempt to pull sway (call in favors, use resources, send an email application, etc) to be allowed onto one of the warpacks being sent to hunt on the first full moon of the year. In January of 2018, there are two full moons; one on January 2nd and another on January 31st (called a Blue Moon). Players who pledge to be sent on the Janauary 2nd hunt will be added to a list and then staff will summarize a story that is rolled randomly to see how well the hunt does. This could be seen as a way to gain honor and fame among the ulven people, but this could be dangerous. Anything from damaged equipment, to wounds, to even maimings or death from battle could happen to PCs involved. The hunt will lead up to the January 20th event and will heavily impact the status of your PC (wounds, damage, etc). However, how well this Great Hunt does will directly impact the events unfolding at the January 20th event. Because of the highly ritualistic nature of this hunt, only ulven are allowed to participate. In order to participate, you must first pre-register for the event as your ulven PC and also email us at lasthopelarp@gmail.com how you intend to volunteer for the hunt. The deadline for this is the same as the Pre-Reg deadline; Friday, January 12th.
2) NPC Reinforcements
There may be NPC group reinforcements for this event which will be detailed in the NPC briefings.
3) Forcing Conflict & Event Goals
Due to the nature of this event, we are trying to replicate forcing conflict with the mordok by having the players move out to and clear/control several areas near the outpost. Defeating or driving back the mordok in a decisive battle at these points will get the event closer to being successfully completed. These locations are abstract; they are replicating mordok being "forced/driven into an area" and defeating them here represents controlling the mordok movements and killing their numbers. Failure to control these points (such as failing to go out and meet the mordok in combat, or being defeated and driven out of the area by the mordok) represents the mordok moving freely through the area. If the mordok are able to roam so freely that they are able to attack the outpost, it will represent a failure on the warriors part in taking the fight to the mordok; just surviving the scenario and holding up in the outpost will not achieve the goals of the event.
= RESOURCE USAGE =
Players may have a PC/PCs use a Resource skill to make an impact on an event but only if they are planning on attending the upcoming event.
Resource Usage for this event needs to be submitted VIA EMAIL no later than midnight on 1/5/18. Information gained from this Resource usage will be available at Check-In at the event; IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO ASK FOR THAT INFO! Players should please try to make sure they are going to be in attendance before sending in their Resource usage.
= MANDATORY CHECK-OUT =
All players are required to properly check-out at every event. Make sure you plan on doing this by seeking out a Herald to turn in your PC card and relevant game props along with you and your equipment's condition.
We will be doing a Check-Out after each day so that players can turn in their items.
If you checkout as a PC, you may not "check back in" after a period of time. Once you check out as a PC, your PC is done for the event day.
There may be limitations on how and where PCs can check out at an event; ask instead of assuming if you feel like your PC would leave early, and then staff can assign you a role after that.
== STORY INFO ==
The Great Forest Hunt
Saturday, 11am to 4pm
Last month, visitors come to Clan Ironmound territory to meet with representatives and delegates of the different Clans of the ulven people. Tensions were high as wounded honor and feuds threatened to derail some of the focus of the upcoming Grand Moot. The leaders were able to discuss many options of what the future could hold and directions the ulven people could take.
Camilla Birchborne, acting High Priestess of Clan Riverhead, brought with her two important messages. The first, was that Clan Riverhead was no more; with the death of the Clanleader, the impending passing of the ill Warleader, and the breakdown of the High Priestess, the leadership of Clan Riverhead has been ravaged in a short amount of time. The surviving Chieftains have supported this new direction of being absorbed into other Clans, primarily Clan Shattered Spear. The second, is that Camilla believes there is an upcoming great portent that the ulven people must not dismiss. Next month in January, the moon will shine full not once but twice, and she and the other priestesses feel that this is the time for action for the ulven people.
The Grand Moot was held and was over surprisingly fast. Setting aside differences... for now... the ulven people as a whole will begin coordinating with the colonists to sweep through and clear ulven lands, primarily the Great Wolf's Hackles and the Great Forest, to prepare for a large construction project to build a series of defenses to the north. The time for ulven to sit idly by and allow each Clan to fend for themselves is over; the "Ulven Pack" is coming together and taking the fight to the mordok.
With the blessings of the High Priestesses of the Clans, the Warleaders have begun putting together warpacks of veteran warriors that will join the Great Wolf in his hunt on the first full moon of the year instead of staying indoors. Veteran ulven and warriors looking to gain word fame have pledged their support and hope to be chosen.
As the first step of taking the fight to the mordok, a group of ulven warpacks and their colonist allies are moving into the Great Forest to sweep and clear it of mordok. Forcing confrontation with the mordok is key to the victory as any tribes or group of mordok slipping through and rejoining other mordok will prolong the efforts of clearing ulven territory.
In this scenario event, players will participate in a joint operation in taking the fight to the ulven. The primary goal will be to occupy an abandoned Clan Riverhead outpost and send warriors out to cut off the retreat or movement of mordok in the area, decisively defeating them in battle. Maintaining control of these areas will be critical as nearby ulven warpacks continue to push mordok into the area, forcing them to fight.
