= CAMPING, BATHROOMS, FIRES, WATER, & ELECTRICITY =
Mauston, WI Land:
- There is tent camping space available at this event off to the side by the parking area away from the main game area for Saturday evening.
- We will be renting a port-a-potty specifically for this event so that players can have access to a bathroom. There will also be a small overflow bathroom available near the house.

- There is running water onsite, but please plan on bringing your own.
- There is electricity onsite but it will not be at the main game area. Please limit its need/use as this is a private residence property. Please keep it to emergencies only and plan on bringing extension cords if you absolutely need it.
= REGISTRATION AREA & PLAYING FIELD INFO =
Mauston, WI:
- The main registration area will be in the parking area near the camping/out of game area.
- Parking and Camping will be as far removed from the game area as possible... the goal is to have the vehicles and tents not be readily visible from the game area.
- The property has a house on it and is a private residence; please be respectful of late night noise and the people living there.
- Stay out of the house at all times; there is an overflow bathroom available if necessary but players should use the portable toilet.
- There is a pool available to use for players on Saturday evening if they would like to go swimming; bring your own swimming suit and towels.
= CHARACTER WORKSHOP, DISCUSSION, PRACTICE =
Saturday will be an early bird registration and setup day for the market faire on Sunday, but we will also be doing a group discussion and character workshop. We will have a number of topics that we can cover from decorum, to player enhancement, to in-game role play, and learning skills and game rules. This is a great chance for new players to learn more about larping in general (and specifically our larp). You do not need to be in garb on Saturday as this is not an in-game event day but instead an out-of-game player/character workshop. We will also be doing a group discussion about the upcoming 1.5 rules changes (and discuss some of those points for those that wish to get involved) along with a player contract session for anyone who has not been through one.
After the workshop, there will be a combat practice and "open time" evening for people to do what they want.
= MARKET THEME & MOVING YOUR STUFF =
We will have various tents and tables, but people are welcome and encouraged to bring their own to setup their own selling stations.
*** These tents and tables will NOT be provided and all items MUST FOLLOW DECORUM (wooden, covered with cloth, etc). ***
Players may bring items to sell for in-game coin and real-world money.
Players may drive their vehicles to the market faire area to unload their items for setup as long as it is done before game-on is called.
Vehicles are not allowed to drive back into the game area until game-off has been called.
= ADULT BEVERAGES AND TOBACCO =
Players are allowed to drink alcoholic beverages as long as it follows all of the game rules (check the rule book). The same goes for Tobacco. Players who wish to bring items like this may ONLY trade with other players for items (barter system) or sell it with in-game coin. Sale of alcohol and tobacco using real world money is NOT ALLOWED. This will be coordinated through the taverns/staff and must not interfere with the event. Failure to abide by this rule will get you ejected from the event.
= TOURNAMENTS AND OPEN SPACE =
Players are welcome to bring decorum approved games and sports and play, there is plenty of open flat ground at the event location, and this may be used openly.
We will be holding a number of tournaments throughout the day. This will be utilizing our normal combat system rules and players may enter the competition with in-game currency. Players must sign up for the tournaments listed at the beginning of the event in order to compete; in order to do so, search for the Tournament Director and inquire during the event. The tournaments will be setup during an established "Block" of time, and we will only run tournaments that participants have signed up for.
COMBAT - These tournaments will feature opponents fighting against each other in a display of martial prowess. To win, you must defeat your opponent by landing a series of valid strikes to them.
SKILL - These tournaments will feature each participant attempting to hit targets and perform feats of accuracy to advance to the next round. This is not an opposed tournament; it features shooting or throwing items at targets.
GAMBLING - These tournaments will feature games of dice and cards and will involve betting in-game coin in order to compete against other players.
= NIGHT CONDITIONS =
We will NOT be playing during night conditions; players will NOT need glow bracelets for spells or illumination for arrows.
= WEATHER CONDITIONS =
This event is in July, so plan accordingly! There will most likely be bugs and hot/humid temperatures. Bring sunblock or something to keep the sun off of your skin (like a light head wrap, shemagh, or sheet) if you feel like it is necessary.
= PLAYER CONTRACTS & TUTORIALS =
All players MUST go through a Player Contract each year.
We will be doing another round of player contracts on Saturday during the Workshop.
= NPC ROLE SIGN-UP & PRE-REG/PREPAY =
There are several NPC roles available during this event. If you are interested in playing an NPC role, please contact us ahead of time to let us know... see below for options.
- The "NPC Pre-Reg/Pre-Pay Deadline" is 1 week prior to the event (by Friday, 7/14/17) and this will add you to the list to get a more detailed or involved NPC. This gives us time to flesh out a backstory, details, and how your NPC can impact the scenario. You are also required to pay ahead of time via the pre-reg/pre-pay options AND EMAIL US to let us know what kind of NPC you prefer. The staff will then email you back your detailed NPC role before the event, usually a bit after the pre-reg deadline ends. This will also earn you 5 exp per event day instead of the standard 3 NPC exp per event day.
= PC PRE-REG / FASTER CHECK-IN =
- The "PC Pre-Reg/Pre-Pay Deadline" is 1 week prior to the event (by Friday, 7/14/17) and this will automatically add you to the "Faster Check-In" line, allowing you to register much quicker at the event.
- Players who miss the Pre-Reg/Pre-Pay deadline may still sign up or the "Faster Check-In" by emailing us ahead of time. (No later than Midnight, Wednesday, 7/19/17) If you have updates to your PC, DO THEM AHEAD OF TIME AND EMAIL US THE CHANGES; you cannot do skill updates and the "Faster Check-In" as we prepare your card/bag/wristband/etc early in preparation of your arrival.
= LATE PLAYERS =
We are following a stricter time-block for check-in/registration moving forward, so players will be expected to arrive on time to get registered and then attend the game briefing. If a player is going to be late and they are going to arrive after registration closes, they are expected to notify the staff by emailing the lasthopelarp@gmail.com address to let us know. This allows us to pull the PC cards and info and prepare their items for when they arrive. Failure to do this will result in an exp penalty if a player arrives after reg closes but before the briefing, or a forced NPC role if the player arrives after the briefing. This does not mean we do not have wiggle room; all you have to do is notify us ahead of time via email so we can prepare accordingly.
= RESOURCE USAGE =
Players may have a PC use a Resource skill to make an impact on an event but only if they are planning on attending the upcoming event.
Resource Usage for this event needs to be submitted VIA EMAIL no later than midnight on 7/5/17, following our standard Faction & Resource use/actions deadline. Information gained from this Resource usage will be available at Check-In at the event; IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO ASK FOR THAT INFO! Players should please try to make sure they are going to be in attendance before sending in their Resource usage.
= MANDATORY CHECK-OUT =
All players are required to properly check-out at every event. Make sure you plan on doing this by seeking out a Herald to turn in your PC card and relevant game props along with you and your equipment's condition.
We will be doing a Check-Out after each day so that players can turn in their items.
If you checkout as a PC, you may not "check back in" after a period of time. Once you check out as a PC, your PC is done for the event day.
There may be limitations on how and where PCs can check out at an event; ask instead of assuming if you feel like your PC would leave early, and then staff can assign you a role after that.
== STORY INFO ==
As the world focuses either on the expansion of infrastructure of colonial territories or the dire threat of the mordok attacks against the Ulven Clans, day to day life continues on in numerous settlements and villages all across Mardrun. Spring gardens give way to early summer harvests and the heat begins to set into the land.
Crow's Landing, home of the Rangers of Crow's Landing, has been selected again to hold a market faire, far removed from the frontlines of the mordok conflict. Merchants, nobles, and travelers alike look forward to the yearly festival that allows a mixing of cultures and trade goods. Many merchants have begun to enjoy the fruits of the labor recently and newly paved roads make getting to and from settlements much easier than before. Clan Nightriver traders and merchants, used to the more rugged conditions afforded in Ulven lands, see first hand how prosperity and expansion can benefit everyday life and enjoy the ease of trade.
As travelers from all corners begin their journey to Crow's Landing, the settlement prepares itself to receive people for the several day occasion. Rumor has it that some nobility may be making an appearance at the faire, their presence a much sought after luxury that could help numerous causes, projects, or agendas.
